WHERE LIFESAVING SKILLS MEET LIFELONG CONFIDENCE

Did you know that drowning is the number one cause of death for children ages 1–4 in the U.S. and remains a leading cause of death for older children and adults? Or that over half (55%) of U.S. adults have never taken a swim lesson? Swim lessons have been shown to reduce the risk of drowning by 88%, giving parents a greater peace of mind and helping children become safer in and around all kinds of water.  That’s why we’ve partnered with the National Drowning Prevention Alliance (NDPA), a leading organization dedicated to preventing drowning through education, advocacy, and innovation. Together, we’re working to expand water safety awareness and reduce drowning, one swim lesson at a time.

REAL STORIES, REAL CONFIDENCE—FROM OUR SWIMMERS

Don’t just take our word for it—hear what parents and swimmers are saying about SwimLabs.

Both of my kids are always counting down to their next swim lesson because they’re so excited to get back in the pool. They’ve both come so far as swimmers in the last couple of months, and I feel like the school does a great job showing them proper swimming and water safety techniques while still making the lessons exciting and fun.

Jacklyn

Excellent swim school with top notch staff!! If you want your children to really learn how to swim and be safe in the water, this is the place to take them. The instructors are not only highly skilled, but also incredibly patient and encouraging with the kids. I've seen so many kids initially nervous about swimming, after just a few lessons gain so much confidence in the water. They truly understand how to make learning fun, safe and engaging with the kids.

Samantha

Our 3 kids have enjoyed every minute of their swim lessons. There is always welcoming staff at the front desk, there is a large kids section to color and play in while you wait for class to start, the pool is always warm so the kids can actually focus on learning to swim instead of freezing, and the changing rooms are nice and big with hair dryers, clothes dryers, and bathrooms for after. We highly recommend here for your kids’ to learn water safety!

Casey

I recently started taking lessons after debating for a while about actually taking formal swim lessons. I never took proper swim lessons and in all honesty I have a fear of the water if my feet aren't touching the ground. They have adult classes, the class I am in is small which is great as my instructor is able to sort of tailor teaching based on where each person is. My instructor is understanding and not pushy at all which I love! I'm only a few weeks in but have been really happy with my experience so far and would recommend to anyone who wants to perhaps learn to swim for the first time or someone who wants improve their skills.

Robert

From the moment I walked in, I was met with a welcoming atmosphere. Front desk staff goes above and beyond to make sure every visit is smooth and accommodating—they're all incredibly helpful and always greet us with a smile. The facility itself is always clean and well-maintained, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. I’ve had fantastic instructors who bring enthusiasm and expertise to every lesson. They’re patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to helping students improve.

Becca

My son has progressed so much since starting. He’s no longer scared of the water and he gets excited to see his instructors every Saturday. I love that booking with them is so easy and we have consistency. If you are looking for swimming classes for your baby, toddler and big kid…DEFINITELY check them out! Everyone’s also so friendly and helpful.

Denise

My son is Autistic and taking lessons to be safer around water. He has an extremely hard time with water on his face or head. Our instructor is fantastic and really knows how to comfort him when he is overestimulated but also continue to help him learn. I'm so thankful we are able to do these lessons and excited for my son to get all the benefits of swimming. I love being able to watch what he is doing but not being in eyesight where I could distract him. They have changing rooms and showers that were all very clean.

Amy

Fantastic instructors who make kids feel comfortable and confident in the pool! The team's consistency is evident with the school's strong instructor retention, which makes a difference. My son has been training here for the past two years, and his growth as a swimmer has been remarkable. It's been a wonderful experience for us!

Maya

When I thought about taking swimming lessons, the idea was fear. I felt like I would drown. I thought I was going to be with little kids swimmimg. Boy was I wrong. The instructors are patient. The classes are not big. The instructors are professional and friendly. Soon enough, I had faced my fears and in the water. I still have a long way to go to reach my goal as a proficient swimmer, but I'm glad I made the choice to get started. There is something here for everyone; from the baby to the senior.

Liz

My daughter is becoming more and more comfortable in the water. I see her learning techniques week after week that I honestly did not expect her to comprehend at 8 months, all thanks to our amazing instructor. We look forward to this weekly class as a family. I also love that loved ones can observe behind the glass without interfering with her class time. Huge thank you for making our experience exceptional!

Michelle

My son was afraid of the water, but after a few classes with the instructors, he's come out of his shell and now loves swimming. They do not rush the kids and have a very gentle way of getting them to learn to love swimming, which is exactly what my family was looking for. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Ryan

I absolutely love this swim school. Not only is the staff immediately warm and welcoming, they take any concern you may have seriously and are quick to action! My daughter has severe autism and they do not hesitate to make accommodations so she can be comfortable during her weekly swim class. That really means the world to our family. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Water Safety: A Lifesaving Skill for All Ages

At SwimLabs, water safety isn’tjust a topic we cover—it’s the foundation of everything we do. Whether you’re introducing your 4-month-old to the water or learning to swim yourself, we’re dedicated to equipping families with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to enjoy the water safely.

Badge-W-1

The Importance of Water Safety

Drowning remains the leading cause of injury-related death for children ages 1–4, and yet, it’s one of the most preventable tragedies. Swim lessons alone can reduce the risk of drowning by up to 88%, making them a critical tool for every family. Beyond that, developing strong swimming techniques can empower swimmers of all ages to navigate water safely and confidently.

Water Safety Essentials for Every Age

Preserver-W

Infants & Toddlers

For the littlest swimmers, supervision is key. Even small amounts of water can pose a risk, so constant attention and instilling good habits early is essential.

Stay Close: Always be within arm’s reach of your child.
Teach Permission: Start reinforcing “ask before entering” behaviors in every lesson.
Use Life Jackets: Choose Coast Guard-approved life jackets for open water adventures.

Michael Mann, SwimLabs Co-founder and Owner

Michael Mann is the co-founder of SwimLabs. He is a Colorado native who started swimming at the age of six, then went on to play Water Polo and swim at the University of New Mexico, where he earned his business degree at the Robert Anderson School of Business. Mike continues to participate in Masters Swimming and Water Polo, and has earned All American status in both sports. Mike has participated in numerous open water swims, Maui to Lanai open water relay, Trans Tahoe relay race, 5K Big Shoulders Chicago, 13K Galway Bay Swim Ireland, 2.4 Rueter-Hess race. Mike currently owns 11 world records in Master swimming and was twice awarded World Master Swimmer of the Year in 2009 and 2010. Mike still coaches masters swimming, and insists his success is attributable to his lovely wife of 30+ years Ann and his three beautiful daughters.

Brooke Burdic, General Manager

Brooke is a Colorado native who grew up swimming for the Heritage Village Sea Lions, the Greenwood Tiger Sharks and then for Littleton High School. After High School, she attended the
University of Northern Colorado, where she studied Communication and Psychology. Brooke has been with SwimLabs since day 1, in January of 2007, side-by-side with owner and father, Mike Mann. She helped grow SwimLabs’ single-unit business into an international swim school that is now a part of the Streamline Brands family with 200+ locations. She now helps SwimLabs part-time, as the majority of time is spent at home with
her 7-year-old son and twin 5-year-old daughters.

Janey Dufauchard, Operations Manager

I joined the SwimLabs front desk team in 2016, after bringing my sons here for Competitive Video Analysis lessons. Prior to being a mom, I was a kindergarten teacher. My favorite part of coming to work every day is the interaction with the littles who are learning to swim, the competitive swimmers who are trying to make zones cuts and improve their times, and the adults who are furthering a life skill!

OUR STAFF

Swimming has been a big part of my life – I grew up in the Littleton area swimming at both the summer club level as well as competitively. I started swimming competitively around the age of 12 and swam for Foothills Swim Team excelling in both butterfly and breaststroke events. I lifeguarded and taught swim lessons throughout high school and college. I swam two years at a D1 college (Tulane University) before quitting in order to focus on my academics. I hung up my suit for several years while I started a family. My three children all swam competitively for many years and now that they are grown and in college, I miss being around the pool all of the time. This is why I choose to work at SwimLabs! I also currently work as a statistician at Denver Health full time.

Kristin Client Services & Instructor

Alex has been coaching swimming since 2009 where he started with his
summer league team. In 2013, he started coaching club swimming for the
YMCA of Columbia Swim Club, where he worked with all group levels from
beginner swimmers to National-level competitors. He also helped start a local
Masters program for the YMCA, the Soda City Swarm. During his time in
Columbia, he taught group and private lessons to swimmers of all ages and
abilities.

Alex is a swim nerd in and out of the pool, enjoying learning, talking, and
applying new techniques in the sport. He believes in teaching the core
foundations of each stroke but is most intrigued by figuring out what works
best for each swimmer! Outside of swimming, Alex likes anything related to
fitness and other sports. He played lacrosse throughout middle school & high
school and has participated in a variety of obstacle-course races for the past
8 years. He is extremely excited to be a part of the SwimLabs Team and is
ready to help you develop a passion for the sport! Alex is the Head Coach of
SlipStream Aquatics, a USA Swimming club based out of Littleton. At SSA, he
enjoys being able to help swimmers find balance in both the pool and their
other sports/activities outside of it!

Coach Mary C Instructor

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada her growing years were always active ones. Skiing, horseback riding, swimming, volleyball, camping … and when not participating she was teaching or coaching them. An Elite volleyball player in High School and College. Early adulthood training and showing horses filled the years. Next marriage and motherhood made her cup runneth over…5 kiddos!! And all the parenting, volunteering, coaching and patience that entails. Through it all (last 20 years) swimming has been her happy place. Teaching groups and privates from 6 months to 60 years, she has taught them all. Her specialty though might be the little ones, so rewarding to see them smile with success and gain confidence. If you need references, you could ask any of her 6 pool confident grandchildren! Brenda is very excited to be part of the SwimLabs Family!

I have been swimming since I can remember! I am 20 years old and I have been swimming since I was about 5 years old. I took lessons here at SwimLabs and I have since grown a love for the sport. I swam all through high school at Cherry Creek on the varsity team and went on to win the state championship my senior year. When I was 15, I started teaching lessons for my summer club swim team and loved every minute of it. I love how I can share my ability to swim with kids and teach them to grow and become stronger and faster swimmers. I cant wait to continue growing as a swim instructor and continue to help kids feel safer in the water!

While I don't focus on astrology, I am a Pisces, which may in part account for my love of the water and swimming. I grew up swimming competitively in Tennessee. My passion around all things swimming was reignited through my own two children who started with summer club, with my daughter going on to swim competitively, including as a D1 athlete with the University of Hawaii. I've also dabbled in Masters Swimming over the years. I was recently reintroduced to SwimLabs when I brought my granddaughter for lessons. I'm thrilled to be poolside as part of the SwimLabs team.

As a child, Erika had so much energy that shortly after she moved from Japan to a small rural town in Wisconsin, her family doctor recommended swim lessons as an outlet for her energy. Not only did this advice make her parents’ lives easier, but it also introduced her to a sport that has been an integral part of her life for the past 18 years. She is grateful for everything swimming has brought to her, including the opportunity to study at and compete for the University of Denver, winning five consecutive conference titles with her team. Despite her successes, she realizes that her achievements in swimming reach far beyond her medals and championship titles. Swimming has shaped her into the person that she is today and inspired her to share its benefits with others. This motivation led her to SwimLabs, where she hopes to impart not only technical skills but also a love for swimming and a commitment to healthy development and lifestyles.

I just recently graduated from Pepperdine University in California, where I swam D1 on their team all four years and was team captain during my senior year! I grew up in Highlands Ranch and went to Mountain Vista. I’ve been swimming since I was about 5 and swam on HRA for many years before college. Outside of swimming, I love the ocean, to paint, hike, and spend lots of time with my golden retrievers! I love teaching at SwimLabs to stay connected in the swim community and to help show others how rewarding swimming can be!

Since I started getting swim lessons at SwimLabs when I was 5 years old, swimming has been a big part of my life. While forgoing high school swimming, I’ve been on no shortage of teams. From my neighborhood team in the summer, to SwimLabs own Sawfish team, from the Wheatland Sharks to DSA, my childhood is full of long practices and nerve racking meets. While my competitive days are behind me, I can now focus on giving children and adults alike the essential skill of swimming and showing them all the joy that comes with it, while perusing my education and certifications.
