Your First Day
at Miller
Swim School

We want to make learning to swim as easy as possible, that includes making sure you are prepared for lessons. Learn what to expect and bring on your first day of lessons.

GET READY TO JUMP IN!

Learning to swim is a defining and memorable experience in your child's life. Our passionate team of certified instructors is here to make sure it is a positive experience for all. Through our small class sizes, warm water, individual attention and passionate team of certified instructors, we are committed to teaching all swimmers to learn to love and respect the water.

All families are required to review and agree to our Miller Swim School Policies. This is completed when creating a swimmer account.

You are welcome to jump-in to lessons at any time. Most of our classes occur on a perpetual schedule - the same time and place each week. Once you or your swimmer is enrolled, classes simply continue until you wish to withdraw. Our goal is to make swim lessons a fun part of your child’s regular routine, and do it in a way that is as convenient as possible for your family’s busy schedule.  (We also have a bit of experience at this and we know that consistency and frequency are important to building independent swimmers!)

You can sign up any time you would like. Because we are not session based, once you or your child enrolls, classes simply continue until you wish to withdraw. Our goal is to make swim lessons a fun part of your child’s regular routine, and do it in a way that is as convenient as possible for your family’s busy schedule. If you enroll in the middle of the month, we will prorate your first month's tuition for the lessons you were not registered for in that month.

We ask all swimmers to bring a swimsuit and a towel. Swim caps and goggles are optional. All swimmers under the age of 3 years (and those who are not fully potty trained) must wear a reusable diaper in addition to a disposable swim diaper.

All locations ask parents to sit in the observation room unless they are asked to come out to the deck for Herbie's Highlight Week. Parents or caregivers are always required to stay on the premises during lessons.

Our team of instructors keep detailed skill trackers for all of our swimmers. We’ll keep you updated on your child’s progress through our Herbie's Highlight Week where your kiddo has the opportunity to show off their latest life saving skills in addition to progress reports that keep you up-to-date on your students level and completed swim skills. If you’d like more frequent updates, please don’t hesitate to ask our team. There’s nothing more fun than watching the pride in your little swimmer when they show off to mom and dad!
